The Jaycox Gig Harbor Police Benevolent Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to charitable and educational purposes by assisting members of the community in need, especially youth. Among the goals of this organization is to provide scholarships and tuition assistance to foster academic achievement and encourage exemplary citizenship with the youth of Gig Harbor. These scholarships may be offered on a yearly basis to students who have been accepted for full-time enrollment in an accredited college or vocational institution or who are currently enrolled in such an institution.

Loren and Lillian Jaycox were long-time residents of Gig Harbor, Washington. Loren completed a 20-year career with the New York Police Department and both were avid supporters of local law enforcement. Upon Lillian’s passing, she chose to leave the Gig Harbor Police Department $10,000. The department decided to create an endowment with the money. This fund will provide financial support to young adults interested in pursuing a college degree in criminal justice or related field. It is the mission of the Jaycox Gig Harbor Police Benevolent Fund to maintain and grow this program to fulfill the desires of Mr. and Mrs. Jaycox and benefit the citizens of Gig Harbor.
